The 2025 edition of the Anatomic Surgery Courses will be held in a hybrid format, combining an online theoretical phase with the in-person training sessions that will take place in Plovdiv. Participants can already access the digital platform and learning materials through the following link:
From November 7th to December 7th, 2025, professors and students will be able to upload and view lectures and related resources as part of the online phase of the Course.
The Black Sea & Mediterranean Medical Academy Foundation is proud to present the 2025 edition of the Anatomic Surgery Courses, featuring an online theoretical program starting November 5th, followed by the in-person theoretical and technical sessions on December 5th and 6th, 2025, hosted at the Medical University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria).
For more than a decade, the Foundation has been committed to advancing surgical anatomy education and fostering collaboration among medical professionals from Bulgaria, Italy, and across Europe. Over the years, the Courses have been organized under the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Ministries of Education and Health, and the Embassy of Italy in Sofia.
This annual initiative remains a key element of the Foundation’s academic mission — uniting experts, specialists, and residents from leading universities and hospitals. The 2025 edition further reinforces this international spirit, confirming the Course’s role as a hub for cross-border surgical education and scientific exchange.

Over thirty professors, residents, and specialists from several universities and hospitals will take part in lectures, training activities, and live anatomical demonstrations.
The sessions will be led by distinguished professors including: Prof. Vladimir Stavrev, Prof. Angel Uchikov, Prof. Rossitza Vatcheva-Dobrevska, Prof. Giulio Maccauro, Prof. Michele Attilio Rosa, Prof. Paolo Parchi, Prof. Lorenzo Andreani, Dr. Francesco Rosario Campo, and Prof. David Joaquín Ortolá Morales, among others.
This year’s program will also include contributions from clinical specialists of biomedical companies Safe-Orthopaedics and Mectron Piezoelectric, offering practical workshops and demonstrations on innovative surgical technologies.
The main sponsor of the 2025 edition is Intelligent Care®, a European manufacturer of advanced isolation and patient-transport systems dedicated to innovation in infection control and hospital safety.
The Course is held under the patronage of: the Embassy of Malta in Sofia, the Italian Cultural Institute of Sofia, Confindustria Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Orthopaedics and Traumatology Association (BOTA), the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA), the Italian Orthopaedic Research Society (IORS), the Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SIOT), SOTIMI, and GIS-SICV, along with other international institutions and medical organizations.
